Hi to everyone.

Let me first introduce myself and apologise. I'm Leon. A classic Landrover restorer working on the Wirral. I have a 1961 swb petrol myself as well as a steddy passat for the wife and a civic for the days that Gladys (my Landrover) is feeling tired. I allso have a 1997 1.8 mx5 with the Bp Engion yoused in the escort as well. My apology is for my spelling. I canot do it. Just carnt. I know it's hard for you all to help when my post are misspelt but I don't read well eather so it works boath ways. I allso know about google Crome but my only Internet is iPhone so sorry and please bare with me.

Ok so. This mx5 of mine. Its a toy. One to have fun in and all though iv bin told not to carb it I won't to. It's never going to be quick as I won't entertain FI on it and I just love carbs. The sound is fantastic the smell and I enjoy spending time fetaling them. So I bought a Megajolt E from eBay baleeving this a cheep and Easey way to manage my ignition. I must admit a dizzy wuld sit better with me but I'm told thay just don't fit. I'm not electronic savy so iv lots to lurn and ask but one at a time.

I know that megasquirt can youse the standard mx5 coils, drivers and cam sencer as aposed EDIS but can megajolt? Can someone point me to some clues as to how?

Hi,

Welcome!

So with the Megajolt you will be able to use the MX-5 coils, but you will need to fit a 36-1 crank trigger wheel and sensor.

Review the Installation Guide here:

http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V4_ve ... tion_guide

This will show you how to install the trigger wheel and install the Megajolt/E.

Let us know if you have any additional questions!

Hi,

Yes, you will need an EDIS-4 module as well. The installation guide lists the donor vehicles you get retrieve this part from. Or, you can purchase one from our UK distributor, http://www.trigger-wheels.com
