I have not yet found a method to plot distance vs. speed. Am I missing something?

Hi Justin,

Right now Race Analyzer expresses everything as time. We're working on designing how to integrate distance into the plots. If you have any specific requirements / wants let us know so we can work it into our plans. Thanks!

Just to add a "+1" to this.
Speed vs. Distance is imperative in race car data analysis.

I +1 this as well.

I currently use Excel for calculating distance and speed. I'm using an average of two data points times the time delta between the two. It works ok, but I'm getting some decently large variation in lap length (say 3%) which is under my time differential between laps. I'm pretty sure my line does not change by 3% per lap, so I'm looking for other reasons for the difference.

One potential I've noticed are GPS spikes and dips for speed as I go around corners. I'm going to work on filtering these out, but they are a different problem that we'll have to work on.

Ouch, that is actually a major shortcoming of race analyzer I was not aware of right now then. Distances vs speed is the basic and most used chart for analysis

We are actually planning on natively building this into RaceCapture/Pro firmware, and then RaceAnalyzer will be updated to take advantage of this additional channel. Good stuff!

Any further updates on when we might expect this addition?

Hi Apexed,

It's in our Version2 firmware branch that we're currently testing. The distance calculated will either be a total distance for the datalogging session, or a distance that resets to zero if a start/finish line is configured.

The distance calculations are part of the predictive lap timing algorithm feature, which is needed for the android dash. Watch for some news on that very soon!
