Unable to lock in GPS

I'm unable to lock into GPS, do I need to provide racecapture with 12V or the usb voltage is enough?

I was able to get GPS data powering the RaceCapture Pro with only USB. Are you inside or otherwise under a roof?

I was outdoor standing for half an hour with the laptop and racecapture. Tried to plug and unplug the gps receiver blink red once and thats all no other indication its working. Is there any place i can check that at least race capture is communicating with gps module?

Problem solved apparently i didnt wait long enough for gps lock.
