Hi,
I've downloaded and unzipped the drivers and put them in a folder but when I connect my RCP via usb the drivers can't be found in the folder I direct it to and i get the message 'device driver software was not successfully installed'
I have a laptop with Vista and service pack 2 installed.
What next?
thnx

We haven't seen this one before. Can you delete the downloaded files and unzip them again? Usually you can tell windows to search in a specific location on your computer - it sounds like you've done that?

I've deleted and reinstalled all the software downloads a number of times and I can see the successfully downloaded and unzipped driver files in the directory that I direct the search for driver installation to, but the same message comes up...'drivers can't be found; refer to manufacturer's website for support'

What next Brent?

thanks
ephrem

ps the usb to RCP lead is very loose in the rcp and wiggling it causes loss of power from the laptop, so the green light goes out but i think this is a secondary issue

Do you have a different computer you could try it on?

I'm suspecting ephrem's *current* version of RCP is pre 1.2 and the V2 drivers are attempting to be installed, which only works with firmware version 1.2 and higher.

Step 1) successfully flash RCP to latest (1.2.8) then
Step 2) re-install V2 RCP drivers.

Backstory: there are two different versions of the drivers because the original version had a conflict with the bootloader drivers.

Flashing rcp

Only one pc computer but lots of apple devices lol

How do I flash my rcp to 1.2 Brent?

Also, can i download the drivers, and analyser software to an android tablet? I've bought a Hudl to use as a dash and it would be useful if everything was on the one device.

Thnx

Just download the latest version (currently 1.2.8) from here:

http://autosportlabs.net/RaceCapturePro ... s#Latest_2

Unzip it, and then run flashRCP.bat. Follow the instructions that show up on the screen.

For android we have the Race Capture app, which is linked via the bluetooth adapter, sold separately:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... acecapture

We are working on future apps that unify everything in one piece of software.

Firmware update

Definite progress. My laptop found & installed the old drivers no problem.

Now I've got the firmware update as far as "Waiting for device to appear on USB " and it seems to have gotten stuck there this last 10 mins. How long does it usually take to appear on USB?

Try again, and when you run 'flashRCP.bat' and it asks you 'is this the first time flashing say yes. It will install the bootloader drivers after this process.

After that, make sure you're holding down the button while plugging in RCP. you will see 3 green LEDs light up.

If the bootloader drivers are loaded correctly then it will recognize it and flash the new firmware.

Houston, we still have a problem. I've deleted/redownloaded and the device isn't being recognised. The 3 green lights light up etc but no success after that

I've given up Brent, sorry. The RCP flashed all the right lights but didn't give me any data whatsoever from the Hillclimb :(. No info on the android app and no data recorded on the sd card.
I've emailed Trigger Wheels asking for return and refund.
