Timeout problem

So, I first tried to connect with a prolific USB adapter. Timeout. Using 3.3.1
Found an ancient laptop with a RS232 plug. Timeout.
Benched it with a 9V battery and RS232. Timeout.
On bench, running HyperTerminal. Get nothing when trying 4800. Got 5-8 signs like "£¤%/#¤" when running 39800 and wrote C. When I wrote S i got "f" as a reply.

I am getting slightly annoyed at all these problems.

Hi OJKD,

What version of the Megajolt do you have? Also, what version of the software are you using? Also, what is "3.3.1" ?

3.3.1 is the software version I have tried, among others. Tried 3.00, 3.31, 3.32(still SW versions).

The box says MegaJolt/E, and I think it is v4, as it only responds to 34800 in HyperTerminal(v3 is 4800, right?).

Hi OJKD,

you should un-install the 3.3.1 software and install the latest software matching the Megajolt V4 (Megajolt/E) hardware, found here:

http://autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V4_Downloads

As usual, make sure your COM port settings in the app match the COM port assigned to the USB-Serial adapter you have plugged in, or the serial port attached to the Megajolt.

Please let us know what you find out.
