unable to connect to V2 software

I flashed the firmware on the racecapture pro to 1.2.8
Uploaded the unsigned driver for greater than 1.2 firmware (a pain in the a** on windows
but I am unable to connect to V2 Software
Error message:
"Could Not Read Configuration:
Could not open port: Device not detected"
Driver info
Driver provider: Autosportlabs.net
Driver date: 3/26/2007
Driver version: 6.0.2600.1
Digital Signer: not digitally signed.
Any help here?
Is there any difference between usb 2.0 and 3.0 on the computer? Tried both but neither worked to connect but both showed racecapture/Pro(COM7) and RaceCapture/Pro(COM4)
There was a intermittent blinking of the green 'download' icon, but no actual connectivity
Thanks

Also, flashing the bootloader:
I think it was successful but there were no completion or error messages, the terminal window just closes after writing the firmware for a bit. Is there a way to confirm the firmware version on the device?

Any ideas here?

I think I had to plug the RCP in before starting the software. If that's what you're doing, try it the other way. It has been quite a while since I have done battle with my RCP.

If you run the V2 software then you definitely need the V2 firmware.
When you run the flash_rcp batch file it will instruct you to install the bootloader drivers. Once that happens successfully, you will see the ASL bootloader device under Device Manager *when* the RCP is plugged in while holding down the button.
Then, the flasher app will detect the bootloader and update.
if you continue to get stuck, drop us a line at
racecapture@autosportlabs.com and we'll help you get sorted out!

I'm having the exact same issue as the OP. Any update on the fix, or how to hold your mouth right?

Hi,
Can you clarify MK1 or MK2 RCP?
If MK1, then let us know how it shows up in Device Manager when you plug in USB holding the front panel button down. That will tell us if we need to install bootloader drivers.
Thanks,

When I look at driver details I see:
Does that look correct?
As above, I can connect with the Race Analyzer software, but not with the RaceCapture app.
Also, newest firmware and drivers.
Is there a certain LED condition that needs to be present?
Are there com port settings that need to be adjusted?
I've tried plugging it in after starting the app, and before starting the app.
Do I need to press the button in a certain way?

Hi,
So it sounds like you're running RCP MK1.
Make sure you are not trying to run the app for MK2. For MK1, you want this:
http://autosportlabs.net/RaceCapturePro ... .2FPro_MK1
For the Beta V2 app, you have to install the beta MK1 v2.0.8 firmware. We're still working on getting the latest V2 firmware and support for the latest app in MK1 hardware.
So to recap, Beta v0.0.2 app is paired with the v2.0.8 firmware, *for MK1*
When you unzip the firmware, there will be some instructions inside the .zip archive to follow.
Is this your first time installing firmware? What version firmware does Race Analyzer report?

This is what I have, sounds like maybe I need different firmware?

Yup, you should go through and install the 2.0.8 firmware if you want to run the the beta app. Later, when we have the official V2 update, you'll be able to run most of the latest features. For the win.

So, now my problem is configuring the BlueTooth, the configure screen in both the app and Race Analyzer is greyed out.

The button you're looking at in the app you're running on your computer is disabled due to a feature not yet implemented. Unfortunately, it's a decoy that is causing confusion.
The current RaceCapture mobile app in the google play store is what you want, here

These instructions will get you started.
