Hi,
I've had a play with my new RCP2 and all is looking good. I am hoping to use an Android mobile as my digital dash via bluetooth but have noticed a problem. The RPM range only shows 10k but my engine rev's to 14k is it possible to change this anywhere? Also as I want to run the mobile as a digital dash if it is plugged into the RCP 2 via usb will it provide power if the 12v is wired up?
Cheers Alex

Ah! I'm going to have the same problem myself Real Soon Now (I race in the same series as Alex). Any suggestions about how to address this gratefully received!

Hi,
The currently released android app in the google play store doesn't have the range configurable. However, we're unifying the app you see on the desktop with the mobile app, this will have full channel configurability, including the alert ranges you can already do in the desktop app. Hang tight, we're working on it now!
Thanks,

Cheers Brent. What about running an android device plugged in via usb to rcp2? Will this provide charge?
Cheers

Hi,
The 5v voltage reference off of the terminal block on RCP can supply up to 1A, but most tablets are happy with a 2A charger. Best bet is to get a dedicated car power supply for that power hungry tablet and keep it fed.
The 5v voltage reference can keep a gopro charged, however - we have that on our list to document soon.

So there is no output power in the mini usb port?

No, because it's a USB device, which receives power as *input*.

Is there an ETA for this? I'm not trying to hurry you, just wondering whether it's likely to be ready in time for my first race (4th April).

Did you sign up for beta testing on the updated app? You have to be part of this google group then enable beta access to the app:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum ... ta-testers
See the instructions at the top to opt in. Currently we're working on BT connection stability; the next push of this app will include improvements around this area.
No hard ETA yet, sorry. Do you enjoy programming Python? ping me at
brent@autosportlabs.com if you're interested in working on a couple of things in the app. Thanks!
