Longacre AccuTech Oil Pressure and Water Temp Gauges

Post by ach2 »

Hi Brent,

I have the Longacre AccuTech Oil Pressure and Water Temperature Gauges installed. Do you know if it would be straight forward to tap into the wires for these gauges to get the voltage and feed the Race Capture Pro?

I assume they would go into the RCP analog inputs. Would a pull up resistor be required for this application?

I called Longacre and they were not able to immediately confirm if this would work and/or if the reading on the existing gauge face would be impacted by the data acquisition system.

Thanks

Best thing to do is probe the voltage output of the sensor (going into the gauge) and see what the range is . Ideally, you should have a map of voltage to pressure (or temperature) reading for best results.

Some sensors and gauges have a dedicated 0-5v output, which is really nice:

Or, you can run dedicated, calibrated sensors as our recommended solution.

Hope this helps!
