Bootloader issues

Post by fitdes »

Hi all,

just received a new Racecapture Pro 2. When updating firmware in windows 10 I keep getting the "Unable to locate bootloader".

I have installed the correct driver and the pc sees the logger.

In the software when starting the logger in normal mode I am told the firmware version is "2.7.9 please upgrade to 2.8.0 or higher"

When I try to complete the firmware with the "hold button and plug in usb" startup I get the "Unable to locate bootloader" error.

Any advice?

Regards,
Des

Hi,

Sorry it's not working right out of the box for you. So - even if you get the incompatible version error, the app is designed to still allow you to update firmware.

So to be clear, you continued past that error, and then attempted the upgrade, and it still failed to find the bootloader?

Did you verify the unit was in bootloader mode with the red light flashing rapidly? Also, sounds like you did the usual windows 'disable driver signing check' process, yes?
