Crank handle starting

Hi all, bit of an odd question so please bear with me!
I'm considering a megajolt/edis setup for an older vehicle which has a crank handle for starting, as well as a starter motor.
Should I wish to be able to hand start it (occasionally!) I can see 2 issues:
Firstly the timing needs to be retarded for start to avoid kickback, that seems relatively straightforward so no problem there.
Secondly, I understand electronic ignition normally needs a couple of revolutions at a couple of hundred rpm to recognise ignition is needed, given hand cranking will give only 1 compression, and at a very low RPM this can't happen!
So is hand starting possible with a megajolt/edis system, or is there a way to make it possible?
Thanks.
