Came across these, probably not as good as some of the commercial models. I bought a couple, I'll update when I get them installed.
For $40 might make sense for some folks.

Cool, i was looking at that and thinking of trying it out myself. When do you expect to test it out? Please let us all know how it goes.

Unfortunately my car is out for paint, may be a couple of months. I have the string pots and from what I can see in playing with them, I don't see any reason why they won't work great for steering angle and throttle position.

I'll keep you guys posted,

I would be more interested in shock travel, although I'm not sure a string pot would work well there.
