hello all!!

im no stranger to soldering, i fiddle with burgler alarms all day as a job!! i looked into buying a megajolt kit but i got a little confused!! i think the supplier is out of stock of a couple of items!! either way if i brought from the components shop do i stil have to buy the case and connectors from brents site?? is it hard to install the firmware onto the chip??

any help recieved will be greeted with a smile

Hi Nick,

Sorry for the confusion. There are a couple of options for acquiring a MJLJ:

1. Build it yourself.
- Buy the 'essential' MJLJ components - the PC board, a <b>pre-programmed</b> processor, and optional extra parts like case and connectors from the 'ordering' link above.
- Then follow the build/test/install instructions under the 'information link', also above.

2. Buy a pre-built and tested unit (ordering link above), and install it into your vehicle.

So, I don't (yet) make available a full, comprehensive kit because the remaining parts are pretty easy to find locally.

For UK builders I've made available a couple of the extra parts that are hard to find over there, like the Molex connectors and the MAP sensor.

im doing some welding work on a ford technicians car for those parts i need (edis, etc!!!!)

i dont buy a lot off the internet so your web puchasing thing baffled me a bit!! trying to click on 1 thing then add another is hard when you're going back and foward between 2 pages!! (well thats just my take on it)

having several little tick boxes u can tick for things u do want and things you dont maybe or ignore me cos im too slow for the internet!!!!

Although I have the advantage of being a Systems Engineer (Computing) I found the parts purchase something of a pain too.

Tick the boxes and then process one order to Digikey would be good - their ordering system is one of the clumsiest I've seen!
