With your Engine at TDC (and you facing the front of it looking at the face of the motor) your 36-1 trigger wheel should be mounted on your crank to where the VR sensor is directly above the 5th tooth to the left of the missing tooth.

I know the hill climb took place over 2 months ago - how did it go? How did the engine perform?

Also, could we get some pics of the car and install?

Did you make certain that your plug wires are plugged to the coil pack properly?

Reference the image below for the appropriate pin outs. Don't go by the wire coloring. That can be arbitrary.

Notice the key ways on the diagram; they'll indicate which is your no. 1 pin out for your PIP signal.

here's what you've got: -edis 4 -pick up (vr sensor) -coil pack -wiring connectors (for edis, pickup & coil pack?) what you say you need now: -megajolt (you can order one for either TPS <-you'll need to obtain a TPS or MAP <-for this it will already have the MAP sensor) -36:1 trigger wheel -brac...

I believe this should work. It would require the following: 2x EDIS-4 modules 2x VR Sensors 2x Megajolt Lite Jr 1x 4 post coil pack Pin 12 of both EDIS modules just wouldn't be used because the coil for 2 & 3 on a 4 cylinder can't be programmed to spark 20° behind the leading coil even with a se...

Sorry to bring this back up nearly 2 years later. I've got my 12A project up and running and wanted to re-visit this. Proper timing for my Wankel as per the FSM is ATDC Lead 1 should be 0° while Trail 1 should be 20° ATDC. There should be no advance at 500rpm but at least 10° of advance at 1500rpm o...

With lesser teeth I don't see why not at those diameters. According to my first gen rx7 fsm, the leading ignition timing at 500rpm idle is 0° while the trailing should be at 10°. Sooo, if there were 2 36-1 trigger wheels on the rotary eccentric shaft pulley with say the rear wheel staggered by a sin...

Let me know if you need anything. I spent alot of "quality time" LOL messing with that to get it to work corectly. At some point I would like to see just how small a trigger wheel it would work with. You would start losing definition Dean UNLESS the pickup/VR sensor used a something like ...

Re: Original Ford EDIS module firmware engineer

This is *very interesting* I just found out who originally wrote the firmware code for the Ford EDIS module. I will likely be able to spend some time with him. Need to write up my burning questions and buy him some dinner & drinks! :) Pester him for a Q&A for the MJLJ community Brent! On an...
