Just checked all the voltages in the assembly guide and all good. Wrung out the wiring from MJLJ and all looks good. Pulled out the timing light and the cranking advance is working, set it at zero and plug fires at TDC, eight degrees BTDC is a known timing mark so I entered eight in for the cranking...

strange PIP signal

Everything is all together map sensor works and there is a spark but no RPM on configurator. The strange thing is the PIP is at 12.6 volts with the MJLJ unplugged Plugging the MJLJ in drops the voltage to 10.5 volts. Others than that PIP cranking is 5 to 6 volts but the voltage seems a little more s...

Reading through the coil literature and it states,,,,, "coils are compatible with most capacitive discharge systems that control the dwell period, or limit the current. (For 12 volt negative ground systems) Does the EDIS control the dwell period, or limit the current? Found a little info on the...

I was thinking that the dwell was from firing of the plug to firing of the plug, but the EDIS probably controls the dwell angle.

I ordered a coil yesterday, hopefully have things sparking soon.

Thanks for the input

And the saga continues!! Been playing around with an ignition coil circuit simulator http://www.bgsoflex.com/igncoil.html and plugging in values from a coil http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=PNX-45111&N=700+400428+115&autoview=sku Hooking the coil up to one E...

Thanks for the speedy reply
Scaling the aux Input range fractionally would be a good thing.

Thanks

changing range on auxiliary gauge??

Thinking about picking up a NAW from 14point7. On the list of things to do is jetting the carb, and dataloging would really help. http://14point7.com/Widebands/NAW_OEM/NAW_OEM.htm The range is: 0-5v Linear Voltage Output; 9-19 AFR. Just finished the calibration and went from 90 to 190, I thought the...

Ignition map question

The motor is a single cylinder 650cc 4 valve head.
The idle for this motor should be around 1500 rpm. as stated in the manual.

Can I start the RPM bin at 1500 and if so what will happen if the RPM drops down to 1200 or 1300 RPM witch would be outside the range of the map?

Thanks

Thanks for all the help I picked up a 15 watt iron, and it worked great, a little trouble with the large tab on theLM2937-5.0 Voltage Regulator in the power supply kit, just a bit too much for the little iron. Right now I am soldering the resistors for the rev limiter, and they really seem to suck t...

The range on the Weller was 350F to 750F

What temp do you run the Weller at when you are working on a board?

Thanks

Found the packing for my 30 watt, and it is supposed To be 750 deg. F how might that compare to a 18 or 25 watt temp wise ?

I looked up the Antex and the size looks pretty handy.

soldering iron wattage recommendation ??

Looking for a soldering iron wattage recommendation.
I have a 30 watt that I was planning on using but, after receiving the kit the other day and seeing some of the smaller
components, I am afraid that the 30 watt might be a bit too much.

Thanks
