strange PIP signal

Post by Johnny »

Everything is all together map sensor works and there is a spark but no RPM on configurator.

The strange thing is the PIP is at 12.6 volts with the MJLJ unplugged
Plugging the MJLJ in drops the voltage to 10.5 volts.

Others than that PIP cranking is 5 to 6 volts but the voltage seems a little more stable with the MJLJ unplugged.
TACH output on the MJLJ is at 5 to 7 volts cranking

This has a hard rev limiter in the case also.
Going to take a peek inside and double check board voltages,
Anny thing else to check wile I am at it?

Thanks
John

Just checked all the voltages in the assembly guide and all good.
Wrung out the wiring from MJLJ and all looks good.

Pulled out the timing light and the cranking advance is working, set it at zero and plug fires at TDC,
eight degrees BTDC is a known timing mark so I entered eight in for the cranking advance and the plug fires at the eight degree timing mark.

But the RPM gauge does not budge
What is the lowest RPM that the Configurator RPM gauge will see ?

Thanks
John
