Is there any restriction on the length of the pipe to the MAP sensor? I'm trying to work out where to put the MJLJ in my Land Rover install where it's well out of the way of water so might end up wanting to use a pipe several metres long.

As it is normally connected to the -ve side of the coil I suspect it's more than simply an on/off thing and I expect it's wanting some kind of pulsed signal so using one of the programmable outputs isn't likely to do the trick I wouldn't think.... unless anyone knows better?

MJLJ + LPG
Hi, I'm fitting an MJLJ+EDIS8 system to a Rover V8 engine in a Land Rover with twin SU carbs that is running on LPG (a.k.a. autogas or propane). My LPG system has a connection to the -ve side of the coil at present. I'm told this is some kind of safety connection so the gas is cut off if the engine ...

I've yet to find a UK supplier of the bulkhead connector for the MAP connection (at least not one that will sell them singly).

I've not done mine yet, if I had I would already have put pictures online. I have a friend who is about at the stage of having it working though, so I'll try and get some from him.

Magnecor do custom leads. They also do leads for Fords, so I assume you can get custom ones with the correct ends on. See

wave soldering
I don't really see what the advantage of wave soldering something as small and simple as an MJLJ would be to be honest. By the time you've set it all up you would have had time to hand solder it all in.

unit built
Hi,
I've just finished building my MJLJ, and hooked it up to a 12V PSU and my laptop. Is it normal that the RPM on an MJLJ that isn't connected to an EDIS module to read 2147483647? The MAP KPa is correctly showing about 100 (it's varying between 100 and 101).

MAP sensor
The Megasquirt and MJLJ use exactly the same MAP sensor anyway, so if you have one from a Megasquirt, then it'll work fine in an MJLJ.
Or is the question if you can use a single one for both simultaneously?

looks good
Looks good. I'm wondering about the HT leads too. I currently have Magnecor KV85 leads on my Land Rover that is getting MJLJ+EDIS soon. Magnecor do list these for the various Fords that use the EDIS type coil packs, but for this application I guess I need to persuade them to make me a custom set as ...

rover v8 crank sensor
Is there anyone out there who has mounted the wheel and sensor onto the bottom pulley of a Rover V8? If so, any chance of some photos of your installation? I'm about to do mine and before I dive in it would be nice to see how others have done it.

The tacho output won't work, but I think I'm right in saying everything else will. I guess it depends how important a working tach output is to the guy.
