Definitive Information
I had a long talk with the "tech guys" at Accel DFI yesterday. They have a version of their EFI system that interfaces with the EDIS ignition system so they are VERY familliar with it. They also happened to have a Ford V8 engine in their shop which was equipped with an EDIS-8 system from t...

Re: Before and After
Paratime, you stated: "Brent's- Put Engine TDC, put sensor 90 degrees before missing tooth. That means that when you rotate the engine backwards 90 degrees (90BTC), the missing tooth and sensor are lined up." I think you're wrong. If you are looking at the front of the engine, the missing ...

This is where the confusion arises from.
KITT, your installation instructions and Brent's installation instructions ARE DIFFERENT. Ron picked-up on this too. Using Brent's method, the VRS would be "N" degrees BEFORE the missing tooth on the trigger wheel. Using KITT's method, the VRS would be "N" degrees AFTER the missi...

My Understanding - is BrentP Wrong ?
KITT, so what you're saying is our moderator, BrentP, is wrong in his VRS - trigger wheel mounting instructions. (BrentP, please comment...) Your description, although 180 degrees different, is consistant with the second description in my posting of yesterday: "On all EDIS installations, the mi...

VR Sensor & Trigger Wheel Mounting Information Discrepancy
I hope that someone can clear up a discrepancy in the way that various sources say that the VR Sensor should be mounted in relation to the missing tooth on a 36 tooth EDIS trigger wheel. At the outset let me clarify that what I am asking for are Ford's intended EDIS design parameters. BrentP states,...

VR Sensor Connector / Pigtail
Paratime, I found a source for VR Sensor connectors complete with pins and about 8 inches of wire (what you would call a "pigtail"). It is made by Standard Motor Products and the part # is: S-812. It is available through Kragen, Schucks, etc. for $21.99.

EDIS CONNECTORS
It seems that Carquest also carries these connectors (they call them "pigtails") under their own Carquest brand name. They are made for Carquest by Standard Motor Products and even carry the S.M.P. part numbers. I contacted my local Carquest yesterday and discovered that they even had the ...

EDIS CONNECTORS
I have found a source for new EDIS connectors. Standard Motor Products (New York) makes them. They can be purchased on-line from Rock Auto, Parts America, etc. The part number for the EDIS-8 module pigtail connector is S-744 and the part number for the coil connector is S-755.

Ford Part Numbers for EDIS Connectors ?
Does anyone happen to have the Ford part number(s) for the wiring harness (connector) that plugs into an EDIS-8 module ? Also, are the coil connector plugs available from Ford and, if so, what is the part number ?

Required Clearance Between Trigger Wheel Teeth and Sensor ?
How much clearance is required between teeth on the trigger wheel and the sensor ? Is there a minimum and maximum dimension ? I assume that all EDIS systems are the same, but in case it is pertinent, I have an EDIS-8 system.
Thanks !
