Try and turn around the lead on your timing light, it is inductive correct? Sometimes the lights behave funny with EDIS. If reversal doesn't work, get an old hardwired style and try that. yes inductive, and no, it's not that... just with messing around and picking up whichever timing light was in t...

Again this sounds like to me that the wiring to the coil pack is incorrect. If you have the 12v power lead to the coil pack is attached to the incorrect pin then as (for instance) coil A output of the EDIS fires you get a good spark from oneside of the coil pack, but then Coil B output fires you ha...

discovered something very odd tonight that may be related to the above - it was discovered while tracking down a misfire under load. Turned out the posts in my coil pack are almost completely corroded away anyway... I put a timing on each of the 4 spark plug leads, and there is a very obvious differ...

dunno how it's possible for that to happen, to summarise, you have 1 weak spark and 1 strong spark coming from each bank of the coil pack? I'd suggest there's something going on with the supply of power to the coil, it's either intermittent, or not enough current can get through. Since you basically...

got back to it today with the scope from work, and everything checked out, the VR signal was OK, putting a 1k resistor from 12v to the coil output showed a nice pulse, but then when I did the same at the coil pack end of the loom there was nothing..... hang on - some idiot stuffed up the connector h...

yep.... I've checked all of those things unfortunately! though I probably checked them in a hurry with dad looking over my shoulder I'll relax a bit, and just systematically go through everything. I need to get my car back together first so I can give the loaner I'm driving back, then have something...

thanks Spockie - my car is in bits, so I can't test things on it.. but your kludge suggestion of buddy breathing between the cars is quite a good one. Plugs and leads are all fine - I hooked his dizzy and coil back up and it started, it's just something the EDIS isn't doing. I've already put my VR s...

hiya I've been running an MJLJ on my mini for about 2 years, runs great, love it - my father is in to Morris Minors, and has one running dual fuel with LPG. I offered to install a MJLJ on it so that he could run a Petrol map and an LPG map. Good plan right. So I soldered up a kit, made a loom and in...

hi there, long time lurker, first time poster - everything with the megajolt just goes so well I didn't need to ask for any help! just a bit of background - I have a 1970 Mini, 1310cc with fairly hot road performance, been running MJLJ V4 for about 18 months. It's my daily driver and I compete in mo...
