I brought the engine to tdc and aligned the trigger wheel 5 teeth offset as required by edis-8. I have started it and it runs on the edis module only to verify install. I haven't hooked up a timing light or the mjlj. It is my understanding that it should have 10 degrees btdc in limp mode. I cannot a...

Trigger Offset adjustment

Could someone tell me which way to adjust... So if my actual timing shows 8 degrees. would I put in a positive or negative 2 degree adjustment ?

OK, well with that compression your total is probably right on, and I guess that explains why your initial timing works. I had a 9.0:1 compression 429 that would run 14 initial and around 38 total. My current motor requires a lot less timing. I may use your light throttle values for a starting place...

I looked over your build thread but it wasn't clear.. What is your current displacement and compression? I have a similar 460 with 10.5:1 . I can't believe your initial timing works at anything above 16 degrees without detonation. Have your verified your base timing of 10 degrees in limp mode ? Also...
