Hello,

Where are you seeing this error message? Are you getting this when you're running through the TPS calibration process, or are you seeing it elsewhere in the software?

Hello,

The error message is a bit obtuse, but it's telling you it cannot detect a change in voltage on the TPS input when you move the throttle.

Double check your TPS connections and refer to the following diagram:
http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V4_ve ... _operation

Start with the TPS disconnected from the MJLJ. The resistance between the purple and grey wire in the diagram should *decrease* as you depress the throttle; conversely, the resistance between the green and purple wire should increase as you depress the throttle.

After you identified the correct pins on the TPS, re-connect it to the MJLJ. Using a volt meter, the purple wire should increase in voltage as you depress the throttle.

Let us know what you find out!

Have you tried putting a meter on the tps to see that it is working?

ok, had the tps off and using a multimeter i get variation in resistance as i move it round and vice versa if i reverse the wires. plugged it all back in and.......stil wont caliberate. might sound a silly question but the engine doesnt have to be running while i try and do this does it? ignition is on and theres power to the mj, i can load maps to and from it easy enough. its just the tps thats left to do now, really bugging me!! thanks for the help so far.

Power to the MJLJ is all you need to calibrate the TPS.

More importantly, do you get a varying voltage on the TPS input pin to the MJLJ when you move the TPS (with it powered up. of course)?

ive not testet it at the mj end yet as it got too dark, but all the cables look in good order. no reason why i shouldnt be getting the variation? i'l check tomorrow abd report back? just dont understand what could be wrong?

He he he ... . . Been there done that. Don't assume that it is good. Judging wiring by its looks has got me in some really bad places over the years. LOL

ok so the car is now running but i still cant caliberate the tps. ive checked the wiring and i get the 5v from mj, ive tested the tps and the resistance changes as i open close the throttle, so why the feck wont it caliberate!! pulling my hair out!

Wait resistance or voltage? Most TPS varry the voltage, Have you looked at the V out while it is in the car and it is running?

sorry i meant that with the tps dissconected from the car if i do a resistance test on the tps it changes as i turn it which would indicate it works, i also have 5v coming from the mj to the tps but when i conect it up..........no comprend! suppose i could try test the voltage going back from the tps to the mj
