For those trying to attach a TPS to a DEllorto DHLA 45..

Post by studarude »

Heres mine...

The next 'phase' of work on my car is to swap from injection over to 45's and Megajolt. I opted for the TPS type of 'jolt as i felt it a better option longterm.

So, the challenge was on to mount the TPS onto one of the 45's. There is a kit available, but at £60odd plus vat and delivery i opted to make one up myself.

So, firstly, find a TPS. This one came from a Rover of all things, and uses the same 'drive' as the stock Bosch one.

Had a spare stock throttle body that was shagged, this donated its throttle spindle which was cut down, and turned down to this:

Then turned up an adapter from the throttle spindle of the '45 to this. M7 thread to the carb, the other end drilled at the edges to accomodate some grub screw to lock the cut down spindle in place. Bolts to the carb like such:

Then fab'd up a bracket to bolt the TPS to the carb:

And fitted the TPS.

Hope this helps!

Very nice. Why didn't I think of that? Good idea stealing the throttle shaft from the throttle body, maybe I'll have to make a return visit to the wrecking yard.

This is exactly how I'm going to be doing my TPS setup on my DHLA40s, thanks for the great pics!

Here we go, this is mine.
- I didnt have any hex section bar stock so i made it our of round and secured it with threadlock.
- All mild steel, with a grub screw to hold the two part together and allow alingment of the flat.
- Brack for the TPS is made from a peice of aluminum angle cut to shape and drill for mounting.
