EDIS fitting to megajolt case

Post by molecular bob »

Is there any good reason not to attach the EDIS unit directly to the top of the Megajolt case. More specifically i want to attach the EDIS to an aluminium plate that would also hold my fuse block and ignition switched power relay, but attach this to the case with 3 short metal standoffs. I am a bit pushed for space (Caterham crossflow) and it would also give short wire runs, which would also be useful .

Bob, I can't see a problem, just make sure nothing intrudes into the Megajolt case too far! I've got mine mounted very close together, very short PIP/SAW lines that way.

Depending if you're referring to a V3 or V4: the V4 MJLJ controller is much smaller than the V3, so you may be able to fit them side-by-side.

It's a v3 tps controller.

It works from a space point of view, but wasn't sure about how much heat the EDIS generates, and whether the megajolt could cope, hence a sheet of alloyand stand-offs to give some heat sink capacity. Also does the case of the EDIS need to be grounded?

Thanks for the speedy response Brent

If you can transmit the heat from the EDIS module to the car body then you should be fine. The EDIS module generates some heat, but not terribly much.
