Two EDIS6 controllers for V12 engine?
A large group of Jaguar V12 owners are interested in converting to coilpack EDIS
ignition since the original Jaguar V12 ignition system is fragile and unreliable as
well as being severely limited by old technology. One gentleman in South Africa
has mounted two VR sensors 60° apart along with the required 36-1 toothed
wheel on the front of his V12 but he had to specially design and fabricate a custom
circuit board that would delay the outputted SAW signal for the second EDIS6
controller by 60° since there is no provision to work with multiple EDIS controllers
with the current megajolt (ignition only) or megasquirt (ignition & EFI control)
implementations.
Also there really is not much room on the front of the Jaguar V12 engine for two
VR crank sensors to be mounted 60° apart so it would be really beneficial to be
able to simulate the second VR sensor signal for the second EDIS controller from
the first VR sensor signal since it is the same signal delayed by 60°
Is any of this possible in the current or future versions of the megajolt product?

Wasted spark with coilpacks would be a HUGE improvement over what we have now so for right now the coil-on-plug stuff is over kill.brentp wrote:I have some updates due on our Megajolt2 plans. BTW, where do I look on this or the other autosport labs sites for information on the Megajolt2
units? And what is your expected release schedule for that? Having a real possibility of doing
coilpack ignition on the Jag V12 engine is eagerly anticipated!

BTW, I am the person who got the circuit diagram for the saw delay circuit from the guy in South Africa to Justin.

I must have misunderstood Justin's IM notes.
Please tell me it (MJ2 V12 wasted spark solution) will NOT require two VR sensors
to get this working!
The SAW delay circuit solution currenly available requires two VR sensors
right now but mounting two VR sensors exactly 60deg apart on the front of
many of the stock Jag V12 cars is very tough to do.
