Rev counter reading high

Hi all, sorry if this is a repost but I've searched and can't find an answer. My megajolt is fitted to a turbo 850cc Reliant Kitten and all seems to be working fine except for the readout on my rev counter seems to be about twice what it should be.
The rev counter is an electronic AST one with a single imput wire which I've wired to the megajolt tacho out.
Any ideas?
