Gorgeous engine! the pride in your work is evident. :)

the map I load up with the pre-built units are a variation of the turbo map I'm currently running. If you're NA it would work fine, but you would gain more resolution by expanding the whole load axis from 0 to 100 KPa.

Brent,

it will be possible to modify the firmware to use 100kpa map sensors? I have some Magneti Marelli units I want to use...

Hello

I have the same engine in my opel (vauxhall) with the megajolt unit
installed. If you would find a working map for it please let me know
I am still working out the exhaust and brakes on my car and haven't connected the unit yet to the engine.
He was running with the edis module so I presume it will work with
the megajolt.
I have tried to make a map but don't know if it is any good.

Yes, it could be modified. The voltage curve would have to be modified to match the new MAP sensor. Do you have any data sheets for the sensor you're working with?

I found the thech specs of the map sensor (and more) on their website:

http://www.magnetimarelli.com/racing/Sensors_2005.pdf

The part I have are PRT 03, specs are at page 5 of the PDF file.

It would be interesting to ask a quote for the PRT 06 wich is 250Kpa, it can be a nice replacement for the Motorolola unit....

Instead of modify the firmware, it will be possible to have a sensor selection in the PC configuration software or just a check box were to input the absolute pressure value for the sensor in use?

I think it's just a easy calculation, that will make possible to use MJLJ with any (most) Map sensors out there already on the engines or at the scrapyards with the best possible resolution .

What do you think?

Hello fodderboy
My opel is '78 two door kadett. I'm not sure that in England it isn't
named differently and I would like to know how to put a picture on here even if one doesn't have a internet adress.
I only got e-mail, am I still in the stoneage here???

A good idea. it's conceivable that you could upload any MAP sensor curve to the controller. Calibration, if you would. :)

I am using a mjlj with a Vauxhall XE engine. Where are your HT leads from? Are they a std fit part from something or are they a custom set?

ALso if you download the DTA software (dtafast.com/.co.uk?) there software includes a base map for a std XE.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello Did you have the time to come up with a proper map for the
20L XE engine. I completed the setup this evening and the engine
is running but is backfires in the carbs and then in the exhaust.
So I could need a basic map to start with.
This is the first evening that I had some time in 4 weeks!
My leads for the sparkplugs are OPEL ones whith ford connectors
at the coil side, easely changed.
