First I read every post on this forum and try to find solution for connection, but it can't be at all. I have V3.0.0 Megajolt and I do everything. I have serial to serial cable and USB to serial( Profilic) and nothing happend in bouth connection.
I connect MJ to batt, and then to COM1 with Serial/serial , and other time I try with USB/serial on COM 7. Bouth time nothing happend and there is no connection just same Timeout reading.... .
Also I am confused does the MJ V3 have same DB9 connection as V4 ( on 2,3, and 5 pin ) and does that have on bouth side of DB9. Or Does someone now how is wiring for serial jack for V3, and i will re-wire.
Thanks I am desperate
Also I put EDIS4 on car (toyota AE86 levin 4AGE 16v) and it's works fine on 10 BTDC and stabile, just problem for next step and connection of Megajolt with PC.

Hi Vladimir,
The V3 controller has the standard DB9 wiring for RS232 serial. All you need is a straight through serial cable for connection to your PC. So, you can ignore the wiring for the V4 controller.
* Be sure you are running V 3.2.1 of the PC software.
* Test on a computer with a standard serial port- it was not clear from your post if you were doing this. If it works with a standard serial port, then you may have a USB-serial compatibility issue.
* Try a different computer. If you have to move the controller near a desktop, try powering the MJLJ up with a fresh 9V battery.
* What is the history of the controller? Is this the first time you are attempting to use it? Has it worked in the past?
- A different way to verify if the controller is basically 'alive' is to connect it to an engine and verify it is controlling ignition advance. If so, then the unit is likely functioning, and you're experiencing a comm issue. If not, then you have a fundamental problem with the unit.
Let us know what you find out after trying the above.
Regards,

So the unit come in kit from you and my friend bougt it and make it run. Test on bench and put some maps for Pinto 2.0. Newer working in car just tested on bench. Becouse He dont need any more ( change setup) He give me that unit, so it's like new and newer working in car.
Past days I spend lot of time to make it run and connect. Also I put it on car and after seting carbs I drive 20km and working fine on that Pinto maps, and it's alive. Still can't connect and i try with standard serial cable on two laptop, and two desktop computer. Same result every time, Timout reading runtime data . Also I try USB to Serial and notthing happend.
Also yesterday I put MJ in car and try to drive but car working only on edis and 10btdc and dont see MJ. I test with voltmeter and see that I dont have SAW signal. Cable are wired correctly but I dont have shild on it. Today I wil put cable with shild and ground it.
Does someone now how much must be from EDIS modul and coil maximum distance. I read somewhere that is max 6 inch??

Today nothing new, I dont have SAW signal from MJ and everything about wiring is set corectly, Put cable with shild and ground on one side (neart EDIS), and still not working. Also I use voltmeter to check does everything about parts inside are ok. Everything is on good value exept one thing, 1N4742 12V Zener Diode, I read zero when I put on 9v . I dont now does it corect or mybee that diode is borken and MJ not function becouse of it.
based on the description you are providing, it sounds as if the MJLJ is not receiving power. Are you measuring 5V on the output of the voltage regulator? Do you see approximately the supply voltage (12V, when powered by vehicle) on the power input to the unit, and on the input to the voltage regulator?
Regards,
Regards,
I solve the problem, After to much trying to make it alive I do one easy thing, re-solder every connection and joints in MJ becouse I see that some joints are little thinky and no good contact. After that I make to connect MJ with PC without problem and put some mapp, and in other hand its work fine on car.
I have now problems to make some good maps becouse i dont have dyno near by me. My car run good on high RPM ( after 4-5K) but its have misfire and gugling from 2K-4K. I must do some experiment in that direction and try to make it run perfect. I use Dr. Occa maps for testing and still is the same becouse we dont have same setup afcorse.
If someone have some sugestion what to do and on what I must pay attantion it will be great. I confused by 4 output and what to put there and also what load to put. It's 4AGE engine,hi-comp pistons, rods, blue top head, OEM cams, dellortho DHLA 40.
Thanks

You would be lucky to find maps for your unique setup, unless someone has done one before. I have the same issue with my standard Pinto with a DGAV carb. The maps I've seen, have the spark too advanced on idle for my applicationvladimir wrote:If someone have some sugestion what to do and on what I must pay attantion it will be great.
