Tacho working but dies out at 4 or 5k rpm

I have the 2 diode and zener (it is an 18v zener) setup. I can rev from idle to 3 or 4k but after that the tacho dies out, the rev comes back when lower than 4 or 5k.

Does any one know anything about this situation.

Is it just the tacho not increasing or do the engine revs not increase either?

It is only the tach, engine revs ok. I use the tach option from the megajolt and works perfect.
