Which bin should my MJ be sitting at (on the bench)

Guys,

I built my MegaJolt Wednesday night, a little scary when i saw the size of the components at first... fine though once i got into the swing of it. All voltages checked out and things looked good- but i couldn't connect to my PC as i didn't have a cable to hand.

Until today.

Good news! I can connect and see the load changing when i suck on the MAP sensor- the load was showing at ~102kPa normally.

But i would have thought that would mean that the current bin in use would have been down in the 100kPa range- it wasn't.

Is this correct/am i being stupid?

Not to worry. It's an artifact of the way the controller firmware is designed. It doesn't select a bin until it sees an RPM signal. So, as soon as it sees an RPM signal from the EDIS module via the PIP input, it will select the appropriate based on RPM and load. You will see this effect once you have it on a running engine.
