Using other ignition leads but with the original fasteners?

Post by denis4o »

Hello!

Some time ago I found a nice article with pictures about using another ignition leads with the original fasteners from EDIS4. The fasteners were cut off from the original leads then re-attached to the new leads somehow.

I cannot find this article anymore. I tried googe-ing it, looking through my history (maybe I was using another computer - I can't remember), so I thought you guys can help me.

I have brand new Champion Triple Silicone High Performance ignition leads that I want to use instead of the old leads I bought with the EDIS kit from the junk yard.

Thank you in advance!

I found it :)
How to convert non EDIS plug leads.

Take 1 scrapyard EDIS pluglead and carefully prise off the plastic surround.

Slide the surround out of the way and VERY carefully grip the contact and ease it out of the rubber boot. It will snap easily, use some lube if necessary.

With the boot out of the way uncrimp the contact and remove it together with boot and surround. Assemble these parts on the new lead and crimp tightly

Or another section in the forum for useful diy how to's????
