Screening for PIP/SAW ?

Post by Patriq »

I'm about to redo my engine bay harness.
I'm planning to use the enclosed contact where the engine bay meets the passenger compartment/glove box. If the cable is screened in the engine bay up to this contact - would it matter if PIP and SAW is unscreened from entering the coupé and up to the MJLJ unit? The length of unscreened wiring would be what you see in the image.

For the effort involved why not screen it yourself? I did this on some of my wiring (only a few inches) by running an unsheathed, earthed wire alongside it , binding it with aluminium self-adhesive tape and then heat shrinking it - makes for a bit of a stiff assembly but it's an easy and (I believe) effective solution...

Yes, I think I will do that.
I actually think I have some heat shrinking that includes a shield.....
