My Ford Escort mk2

Post by dangerousdave »

Hi guys, was told to get some pics up so here they are.

1980 Escort mk2 Harrier, running 1620cc xflow, ported bvh, balanced bottom end, kent bcf2 cam, big bore manifold, twin 40 webers. Should be around 100-120bhp at best. Im planning to build a new bottom end up this winter though hoping for around 140bhp.

Shell was like a tea bag when i got it, all work done by me except for the filler....just couldnt get the hang of it and it needed lots! Lots of welding, roof, rear 1/4, inner and outer sills, chassis rails, you name it its been welded except the inner wings strangely they were mint! Its been 4 1/2 years so far and well worth the wait getting it finally finished the other month!

Runs 100% better on the mj, love it to bits so easy to install and use, and much better on fuel with the tps working and map adjusted to suit. Since fitting the 40's i havnt got round to sorting a tps mount so thats one for the winter! On the other hand the rev limiter board is the best £15 i have ever spent  Love the flames and gunshot noise!!

Enough talking heres some pics taken at castle coombe the other month

Very nice motor fella. Lots of work gone into that. I don't think you could get it running much lower than that, lol

Cheers guys! It can go a bit lower (its on coilovers all round) but its a nightmare with the speedhumps and i have split the sump already just hitting small dips in the road!!! The new engine will get a shallower bowl and baffles in the sump then its only the xmember that will hit!!
