Mac software

Post by Ryanesque »

It would be nice to not have to find someone else's computer to tune with.

I'm a mac guy...always have been. can't imagine it's that hard to create the program to work on a mac too..

That said I'm still going to buy it and use someone elses computer, but it would be easier if I didn't have to.

I don't know that there will be nearly as many users that need a linux version as there would be for a mac, but I agree...a competent computer nerd should be able to come up with different versions for the popular op systems.

Like i said, as it is I'm gonna have to find someone else with a computer I can map on..

I'm in for a Mac version as well... it's getting old having to beg and borrow a PC to run software only supported on one platform.

Has anyone tried running the Tuning software inside a Virtual Machine ?

If noone has already had a go, I could do some testing and see if it works.
Hopefully the USB-Serial Ports shouldnt be too hard to make run under a VM.

Then you could run a Windows Install inside the free VMware or VirtualBox players and run the tuner on any operating system - Linux or Macos. Not quite as nice as native, but at least you dont need to buy any hardware.

Would this be a satisfactory solution for you Mac-heads ? ;)

I did, and it works perfectly. Debian linux, and VMware. I have serial port, so no info about USB-Serial adapters.
