MC908QB8 Damaged replacement advice.

Hi guys.

I'm new here. I have assembled all of my megajolt lite jr without hitch. However, i trod on my MC908QB8 16 pin (U1 in the instructions). I need to replace this part. Can i get one like it from maplin or Autosport labs? What part is it? And what does it do?

Any help appreciated
