map catalog

Post by Ivan »

I think if we would make some sort of list whith maps for different types
of engines it would be easy for everyone to find what he needs or compare.
I don't know how exactly to make this practical but if one has a resonable
map he can list it under his type of engine.
So create a list of engins where people can place there maps and can finde
other maps.
I don't think there is an organized list for the moment is there ?

Good idea, I think we can organize one here. I'll put that on my list!

Do it like this

Host a database with URLs to map files on a database server. That way your app server could read that to present and retrive the maps. Programmers could also write code to retrieve maps directly from tuning program.

I would prefer InterBase, but anything free will work just as well. Something custom will also work.

Store maps automatically in randomly generated directories.

An java applet, or an active x could be written to view a map in 3D or as a table.

It seems that you are a computer wizzard but not everybody is.
Like myself for instance, want things to be simple and just see for ones what I need and not get strangled in programs.
Don't take this the wrong way please but I think there are more
blokes like my then there are like you.
Keep it simple for everybody that's what I say.

Thanks for your tremendous contribution on the new software that you
are developping!

What better way to satisfy you than to let you view the map in 3D or table right on the web page.
