Can MJ be operated without map and tps ?

Post by Robert T »

I want to know if MJ can operate without map or tps input. if so what are the settings I need to do to run this way. My thoughts are that it will just read RPM and
make timing adjustments from this reading ?? :?:

Yes, my first maps were this way. Make all ten bins the same on the vertical axis in the map.

Then I added the load sensing later. My old dizzy was centrifugal only.

You could if you wanted put a potential resistor on the dash in place of a tps and have an on the fly map change, should you wish, with a choice of ten maps.

I have map sensing at the time but want to do some tuning without the MJ sensing the load from map.
does the number in the bins ( vertical ) have an effect on how the MJ reacts ? what I mean is if I set them all to
say 10 or to 50 would this change anything , or should I just make sure they are all the same ? Thanks for your help.

I did my map based on the full-throttle setting, which is the bottom horizontal row. Then just make the other nine rows match the first one.
