I wonder if someone can help, I'm about to start building the loom for my EDIS8 install but I'm a bit confused by the required wiring specification.
The install guide recommends 12 - 14 gauge which I assume is AWG, this converts to 4.0 -> 2.5 mm2 which seems way, way over the top as 2.5mm will carry over 30A !
My plan was to use thin wall 2mm(25A) for the main power and grounds, 1mm (16A) for coil to EDIS and 0.5 for low current interconnections shift light, temp sensor etc.
Anyone in Europe know what sort of cable they used ?
Thanks.

If you are using proper auto-grade PVC thinwall wire then 0.5mm thinwall is good for the low current stuff, 1mm for the runs to the coils etc. Remember that you will need to use shielded twin-core for the VR sensor.
If you don't already have the wire then let us know as we keep both the thinwall loom kits and military-spec shielded wire in stock.

Hi,
Thanks for the confirmation, I could not work out why the cable had to be so heavy as I know a coil pack draws well under 10A average so I'll stick to my plan in the original post.
I got a VR sensor loom of an HCS fiesta, its over 2m long and has a nice moulded plug on the end !
Thanks
