Anyone know which pin is the positive side, Can't see an obvious mark anywhere !

Wiring up the EDIS plug is so much fun I only want to do it once :?

I did know this but it has left my mind, I've had a drink since then, sorry

I would check but i wont be able to see my mini for a few days. Will let you know monday if you haven't figured it out already. I usd a chocolate block initially to work it out then soldered it once done. There isn't any obvious mark except the orientation of the plug to the socket.

OK I've to the local U-pull it this morning and relived a HCS Fiesta of its complete EDIS system and according to the EDIS 4 pin out and the Ford wiring colours the above diagram is wrong !

I wired up my EDIS8 with the VR sensor the same way around as the cannibalised EDIS4.

If it don't work at least I know where to start looking !

Ooops just realised i'm looking into the wrong side of the connector, found another drawing that states "viewed looking into the harness" so i've transposed pin 1 & pin12. Looks like I'll be busy with the soldering iron again this week.

Don't worry, you're not alone - it's a very easy thing to get mixed up over.

Yeah :? The industry I work in always refers to the plug as you look into the equipment whereas all the EDIS stuff appears to be looking the other way from the equipment into the loom, at least this explains why things where so confusing !

Back to the garage for more fun with the long pointy things  .... at least I have go the hang of taking the EDIS plug apart now and I'd rather find these problems on the bench - before I render the car unusable and swearing at it fails.

Got there at last.

The EDIS8 drawing on the B&G site is a little less confusing than the one on the MJ install instructions as the keyways are shown correctly, that combined with a photograph of Elliots EDIS8 wiring from mez.co.uk meant not even I could go wrong.

Here is the result (cra**y phone cam but you get the idea)

The green "relay" is now a box for 4 diodes to live in to trigger the OEM tacho and Lucas "flapper" injection ECU (Hopefully) it Still needs a little paint before fitting, but I'm making progress.

Thanks
