Odd conection problem (COM16)

Ok well iv had a go at connecting the megajolt to my laptop.

I did a search on here and it was suggested several times that this USB converter will work, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0511617237

However i checked the COM port with the usb plugged in and it shows COM16 i tried all my USB ports and it will only give COM16...

So my initual problem is the megajolt program will only go up to COM10 so wont accept COM16.

My second problem is when i plug magajolt into the cable the Port name doesnt change to magajolt..... now im not sure if this is linked to my initual problem or this is something different.
