Question with MJ and Ford EFI

Post by israelvza »

Hi everyone, I´m new to this forum, I have this little question, can a MJ be used with an EFI engine, I mean, the ECU controling the injector firing and the MJ the ignition? since Ford use TFI module and SPOUT signal to control the timing, I was thinking in connect the PIP signal from the EDIS module to the MJ and the ECU, and SPOUT cable disconnected.

Have anybody tested?
Any suggestion?

Thanks

I have looked into this in the past and i believe it can be done pretty much just as you say. As long as the ecu is getting an speed output from the edis (pip) which is equivalent to that of a dizzy then it should be fine and as you say don't connect the spout to anything.

Have a look on this forum (i'm sure i have had a conversation like this before)
