Just wondering if anyone knows the voltage from the knock sensor and if there is any way to use it as an advance correction sensor.
The knock sensor is already on my fiesta zetec s, 1.6l motor and i think it would be worth looking into, any info appreciated.
Ford zetec knock sensor for advance correction?

What are the specs on the sensor? is it just the raw sensor, or is there an amplifier/ signal conditioning component to it (auxiliary box) ?
A raw sensor is like a microphone and just outputs a "signal" representing the sounds the engine makes- like an audio signal. This, when combined with knock processing circuitry & logic will produce a signal that indicates a "yes" / "no" knock indicator or "degree" of knock. This type of signal can be fed into device like the megajolt to correct ignition advance. I.e. the Megajolt doesn't intrinsically have this signal conditioning capability.
Having said that, we're working on a development / R&D board for testing the TPIC8101 knock sensor (disucssed here: http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?t=2530)
Now to just find an engine we don't care about
