smiths RVI tacho wiring

Hi guys,ive had my car up and running and would like to get my tacho working now,it is a smiths RVI type so any wiring guides or answers would be very helpfull.

This information about the Smiths RVI tachometers is wrong. The central power wire for the EDIS coil should be run through the Smiths RVI tach BEFORE going to the coil so that the RVI tach can read the induction signal from that wire just like it does in the original installation. I just did this on my Jensen-Healey which also has a RVI tach and the tach now works.

I have included a drawing I made for a paper I am writing. It is for implementing EDIS ignition with Megasquirt but the wiring principle I have illustrated for the tach and coil are the same with Megajolt Lite Jr.
