Sagem coil pack wiring

Post by gav »

Hi, just wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for the sagem/vauxhall type coilpacks which use a 4 pin plug as apposed to the 3 pin type found on Fords? Thanks

Ah, i've worked out one pin is for an earth and the other a 12v feed, on the mpi mini's the earth is used but there is no 12v feed so i'me guessign this isn't needed?

Becareful here from my experience Peugeot have 4 pin coil packs and the 12v pin in to the pack is paralled inside the pack to another pin for a capacitor grounded to earth. So in retrospect there is 2 x 12v pins, coil A pin and coil B pin.

Now some other coil packs have a ignition drivers built in (such as on an audi A3) which would have 4 pin connectors but for different purposes. In these cases you would have 12v, ground, coil A and coil B.

I personally have no experience with the coil pack you have quoted so i don't know what you have but just to keep you awares of the slight difference available. There are a couple of simple tests with an ohmeter to determine what you have unless others now different.

It's the same coilpack as found on the mpi mini's, according to the wiring diagram 2 of the pins go to the ecu and one goes to earth, the other pin is not used, does this help at all?

In case anyone searches pins 1 and 2 are ignition triggers pin 3 is 12v supply, 4 is not needed. On the Ford coilpacks does coil A correspond to 1&4 and b 2&3?
