Coil on Plug

Post by 4600cc »

Now that I have an engine with Coil on Plug setup, I'd need to figure out how to make EDIS-8 work with coil on plug. Please give me the basics, draw some pictures.

Are you sure it's possible?

Are you sure it's possible? I thought the EDIS was limited to wasted spark setups?

I think it's possible and it

I think it's possible and it was on my plan to give it a try.

Wasted spark in the EDIS form means that you have two plugs connected to one coil.

Wasted spark works also if you connect two COP (coil over plug) in parallel with the same coil driver wire, two plugs will be fired at the same time by two different coils.

Possible with our Ford EDIS module? It's just a question of electrical parameters... coil primary impedance... someone should try that.

EDIT:

MSD carries a EDIS coil replacement, I think the parameters should be nearly the same as the OEM counterpart.

IF I'm going to install megajolt onto my mustang it will have to be as much sock looking as possible, that's why i want to keep COP.
