Flathead success

Stripped the old band-aided dizzy and leads off the other day, and finally installed the coils and megajolt tonight. And it ran!
Well - second attempt anyway. Toothed wheel was 180° out and in the fading light outside decided it was quicker to move it, than try to fathom which coil leads to swap. Well there is 8 of 'em!

Still have to shorten back my lengthened wires and plug it properly, and get some new plug leads the right length. Haven't run it up with the dynamo attached (both water pumps are leaking) to see if it affects the sensor signals. The only slightly waterproof part of the car to site the ignition was next to the dynamo cutout box...
Then I'll actually check the runtime when I can move the car off the front lawn!

Oh? the birdbox? Just wanted to dress it up to look a bit like an old T wooden coil sitting on the firewall. The megajolt case sits in there on top of the EDIS module, sharing a common stud at the top. I'll give the box a coat of varnish when I've finished!
Oh - also, successfully connected to your board, Brent from my G4 iMac running OSX. Had a bit(!) of help recompiling the software with the address of my USB/Serial adaptor. Now if only I could get it connected to my Newton...

Anyway - cheers for everything so far. Should make it to the Hotrod Drags in September - see if it makes a difference over stock before moving to twin carbs over the winter.
Reckon I'll be itching to do all this again. I've now acquired a 51 Chevy that's going to LPG. New board sounds ideal - 2 maps for dual fuel.

flattie update

Through some water in, ran it up with the dynamo - didn't affect it at all. Plugged it into the Mac and watched the runtime. Seemed OK so just been for a night time flit in the countryside. Runs very smooth indeed, apart from my knackered leaky old Holley 94 which gives an idle between 200 & 700 rpm... Dialed in some extra advance down at 500rpm which seems to give a lovely smooth overrun.
