April 2, 2004: Are there any boards/processors available?

Post by squirrelgripper »

Brent,

I ordered a board and processor yesterday via Paypal without thinking that you might have exhausted your supply. Do you have any currently in stock, and if not, when do you anticipate getting more?

Thanks,
Iain

I will have the next batch of boards soon, very soon! :)

I'll be quite busy fulfilling the order backlog when I get them.

Thanks for your patience. I didn't expect this level of interest!

Interest

With Haltech discontinuing their IG5 and Holley dropping their Annihilator ICT Ignition System, there is no other fully independent timing computer that allows for mapping both RPM and vacuum advance curves on the market. (At least that I have been able to find)

In fact, I have told several friends about the system, and they are quite interested in buying one assembled, since they don't feel sufficiently electronically savvy to assemble one on their own. You might want to consider offering complete kits that have fully assembled boards.

Thank you for the feedback; I will consider making completed kits. Can you estimate the number of units that would be spoken for if they were made available?

I actually have an update! I received the shipping confirmation on the boards from FedEx.. As soon as their system is updated with the expected delivery date I'll be able to estimate when I'll be able to ship them out to you!

Thanks,

Excuse me also

I also looked back on the home page and finally found a way to get to the order board page. Maybe a link on the home page to order everything would be helpfull. Before i order the case I really would like to know if the MLJ will fit in the MS case.

Thanks

Kits

I know three people that said they were interested in the MegaJolt and the MegaSquirt, but didn't think they had the ability to assemble the boards. Whether they would actually buy one... Who knows? How much would you want to fab one? $100? $500?

If you are interested in feedback, what I would suggest is that you create a home page that has a picture and a short description of the MegaJolt Lite Jr., instead of the news. I was unable to find your site when I was searching for a spark computer. So I would include the phrases "ignition controller",
"ignition computer", "spark controller", "spark computer", "timing map" and "timing controller" in the body of the description. This should increase traffic. You could also mention the other systems that have been discontinued, to have hits for people that are searching for them.
Then come up with a price and state that all orders are "Build on Demand". You can even pre program them with a conservative spark map for their application, so they can install immediately.

How many orders will you get? Hard to say, but most auto mechanics I know (and I know quite a few:) don't have the skill/knowledge to put together a HeathKit, but would be able to hook up the EDIS and controller, then program it with a lap top if you can get all the Java loaders in an easy install package.
