MJ Software - shortcut keys?

Post by ian2000t »

Using the standard MJLJ software on my laptop - are there any "shortcut" keys available? I.e.:

- Get map
- Write Map
- Commit Map
- Increase value
- Decrease value

Would like to get someone sat in the passenger seat changing settings when I'm driving... but with uprated suspension (in a Mini anway!!!) I can't see the silly touchpad on the laptop is going to be easy to use! :?

I believe this is what your looking for

Editing Ignition values: move the yellow ball around the map by using the arrow keys; to adjust the ignition
value at the selected point, hold down the Ctrl and use the up/down arrow keys.
Editing Load or RPM bins: Use the Alt key combined with the up/down keys to alter the selected Load Bin;
correspondingly use the Alt left/right key combinations to adjust the selected RPM bin.
Locking the editing point with the runtime: Use the 'L' key to cause the editing point to automatically
follow the runtime point. Press 'L' again to unlock.

Enable Realtime config update: Use the 'U' key to enable automatically writing of the Ignition Map upon editing.
** Note this does not trigger a Flash write: it only updates the active MAP in the controller's RAM.
Press 'U' again to disable this feature.

This info can be found in the readme file which came with the configurator software. Click Start, all programs, find the megajolt file and open it and there is a file called readme, should you ever need to refer.

Hope this helps

Thanks Ryan- This is specific to the interactive "3D" tuning view. this should get you very close to what you need. Especially the "Lock" feature, which follows the editing point where your engine is currently running.

Thanks guys. Do you mean you can't use these on the standard "map" view? I cant use the 3D view because my laptop is crap and it instantly crashes if I try it!

It's not on the standard map view, sorry. What Version of windows are you running- and how old is your laptop? You might be able to update the video drivers for it to prevent the crashing.

Well, I hadn't even bothered trying that - had just assumed it was a dinosaur of a laptop and there was no hope! Also I didn't realise the extra features of the 3D tuning view.

Laptop is an Intel Celery 1.8ghz, upgraded to 512mb ram and running XP home. Can't even tell what the graphics card is... all it tells me anywhere is "Mobility Radeon"... no model number.

Anyway, found an archived Toshiba update for display drivers (still no mention of model number/chipset) and it seems to have worked! Well, the 3D view works now at least... will check it plugged into MJ while driving tomorrow!

Cheers!

Hey! that's awesome! Let us know how it works for you- if it's easy enough to use, etc :) Will you have a friend in the passenger seat to help you later?
