rev limiter HELP!!!!

Post by Richard oxley »

HI ALL
Can anyone help me please?I have just built the rev limiter circuit as shown on the down load but it dosn't seem to work at all. I connected it up to the coils and the MJLJ out put for rev-limiter but all that happens is the thing just makes it miss fire and that without switching it on.When i switch it on it just stops the engine. It's doing my head in a bit!!
Cheers Rich

rev limiter

Which version of the MJLJ firmware are you using? The rev limiter circuit only works with version 3.0.1. If it still doesn't work with the latest firmware I will try to develop a simple test procedure to determine where the fault lies.
It is worth noting that BC 214 transistors are available with two different lead arrangements. Please check that you have the transistor wired correctly.

Edited to add that I have just noticed that the firmware for V3 and V2 boards is different. It will probably work with the latest version of the firmware on either board. Older firmware will definitely not work on a V2 board.

Yes, latest version of either firmware will work for the soft rev limiting plus proper rev limiting engagement.
