Cranking advance question

Hi all, i'm new here and have recently installed mjlj on my TR7 2 litre engine.
Now the car runs so much better but starting is sometimes a problem. I see in the tools dropdown there in the global options menu is a setting for cranking advance . What would this be best set to? at the moment mine is set to 12 degrees which is my static advance setting.

Have you tried just changing the setting up and down to see if it makes a difference? What figure did you settle on, if so?
