Ferrari max rev issue

Post by Ferraripilot »

Hi everyone,

I just completed a very custom designed 3.4L Ferrari 308 road/rallye engine and employed the megajolt system to run things. Brilliant system, just what I needed but I've run into a problem. Max rpm on this engine is a bit north of 8000rpm and the system is cutting out on me at 7400-7500. I've ruled out it being a pinging issue because I can run this ignition timing (36 degrees) when peak torque occurs which is about 5800rpm with no pinging at all. Just to be sure I lowered things a great deal just to be thorough. I definitely believe the issue is with the EDIS V8 system itself not being able to rev this high. What do I do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

To be even more specific, at 7400rpm it feels like I've hit a rev limiter as all power is essentially gone like a rug was pulled out from under me. There is no 'pinging' type rattling sound at all, just sounds like I've hit 'the end' of its capabilities.

I just found some prior threads with some useful information. Sounds like the Megajolt/C will answer this problem. Please Brent, let me test the prototype, I have the engine for it!
