Info about the Northstar 4.0 and 4.6 liter V8s
I suggest reading my website at http://www.v8mr2.com
There is quite a lot of information about the Northstar.
The MegaJolt is an ignition system only. You will also need a way to control the fuel injection and the transmission controller if you are going to use the 4T80E transaxle. I use the Powertrain Control Solutions Tranny Controller. http://www.powertraincontrolsolutions.com/
On my first version of the car, the Toystar I used the Electromotive TEC3 for the engine control and spark.
But for the Toystar II I am using a Holley carb and only need spark. So I am going to use the MegaJoltjrLite. I'll still use the tranny controller.
After talking with Brent today, looks like I will be using a Ford V8 EDIS coil pack. I think we could make the Norhstar coil pack work, but right now I just need something to work without testing as I have to have the car ready for a meet in July.
What do you plan doing with the Northstar?
You do know that this engine is very pricey to work on?
